Greater Than

Greater Than is a new marketing firm in Chicago, Illinois. Its founder, Dan Cox, quit his high-profile marketing job at JP Morgan and started his own "green" marketing firm. Dan works with Green Exchange in Chicago and other sustainable businesses to, as Greater Than's tagline suggests, "help do-gooders, do greater."

Dan hired me to design Greater Than's logo. Originally Dan envisioned a logo that depicted geese flying in a sideways V-formation (also the > symbol). I did a couple geese concepts but they never were real tight and cohesive so I went back to basics.

The logo at the right is the prototype. I wanted to create a simple mark, a character that you could see being stamped on boxes, t-shirts, coffee mugs, sidewalks, etc. A basic button that, when pressed, could open up the possibility for sustainable marketing to come to Greater Than's clients.
