My Senior year of college I was chosen to participate in my school's Undergraduate Research Mentorship program. The program and topic was completely self-directed under guidance from a chosen faculty member. Typically, these projects end up resulting in a long 20-page paper; I wanted to do something different. Opportunities for research in the fine art realm are rare so my thinking was to combine my Art History minor with my Graphic Design major.
With the guidance from Dr. Carol Grove, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Art History and Archaeology I conducted research on the History of Urban Landscape Parks. With that research, I wrote a 17-page paper but thought I should make an interactive visual component too.
This is the entry page. The ENTER button changes to black when you roll over with the mouse. An animation begins when you click on the button. The rose and title shrink in size and begins to move along a spiral path. The rose represents the artistic elements involved in urban park design and serves as an icon.
