For more than 30 years Steve Saunders has been travelling the world, mostly in solitude, trying to capture the quintessential image on paper. He primarily shoots landscapes, in the style of greats like Ansel Adams and John Sexton. Occassionally he will shoot architectural photos too. Some of his work is even part of the permanent collections at the Art Institute of Chicago.
I looked to Steve’s work to inspire the design layout. Wanting his work to be the main focus, a simple two-column layout is used in every section with the Portfolio section opting for a wider right column in order to accommodate images in larger formats.
The home page for the site is pictured here. It introduces the viewer to his work through his Artist’s Statement and a sample of his style.
