One of the newest print pieces I have designed for Heshima Kenya is their quarterly newsletter, which is mailed to all donors and anyone else interested in learning about the latest happenings within the organization. There is also a digital copy uploaded onto the website.
I envisioned each newsletter with the photo across the top fading from black and white to color. This symbolizes how the children Heshima Kenya serves are transformed from being forgotten refugees to living free as children.
One of the biggest challenges I have been having is trying to fit the massive amounts of required text on a double-sided 8.5 x 11 sheet. I have tried convincing the writers to cutting more of the text so that the layout is cleaner but to no avail. Putting thin lines between articles and highlighting important text in light gray boxes has been an attempt to organize some of the chaos with the text.
